Description

This coffee makes us smile every time we taste it. Part of what makes this coffee special is an innovative processing method that involves strawberries and yeast traditionally used in the wine industry. First, the coffee cherries are inoculated with wine yeast and then fermented with fresh strawberries (that they are fermented is not unusual; all coffee is fermented to one degree or another. Many modern processing methods rely more heavily on the fermentation to distinguish novel flavors and aromas in the coffee). Afterwards, the coffee is sun dried on raised beds alongside more fresh strawberries. Finally, the coffee is hulled, and shipped to us where we roast it.

We are excited about this style of coffee. The flavors here are juicy, powerful, and will make you reassess what coffee can and should taste like!

To be clear: this is 100% pure whole bean coffee. While strawberries were used to modulate fermentation and drying, there is no strawberry present in the coffee. Further, this has not been artificially or naturally flavored with any additives (and therefore it is not “strawberry flavored coffee”). It is, however, incredibly delicious, and a must-try for anyone who wants to expand their coffee horizons!
