There’s a lot that can be said about Italian style espresso. Many love it, from die-hard patrons of traditional espresso bars, to tourists who import stories of “the best coffee I’ve ever had” back to the States. Others are less fond, arguing the roast is too dark and the coffee of low quality. While this debate is lively and open to interpretation, we believe there’s no doubt the impact Italian espresso has had on the world. There would be no specialty coffee without there first having been traditional Italian coffee. It’s like the intro to a book, but instead it’s the foreword to our industry.
Foreword is our homage to traditional Italian espresso. We maintain the inclusion of robusta, a coffee species rarely used in the specialty industry, but pair it with medium roasts of Brazil and Colombian coffees, which contribute your typical cocoa and nutty flavors, but also enhance the blend with a delicate florality and an exciting citrus touch as it cools.
